Madison Moore

Madison Moore of Appleton, Wisconsin, was always drawn to art, design and learning. But it wasn’t until taking physics in high school that she realized there was a way to pull all her interests together: “I realized that engineering would be the perfect challenge, as well as a rewarding career.”

She majored in electrical engineering so she could focus on renewable energy. “I decided to pursue the Engineering for Energy Sustainability certificate which led to me taking more and more power engineering courses,” she says. “They have been my favorite courses!”

In 2019 she interned with Faith Technologies in Menasha, Wisconsin, helping to design electrical layouts for construction specifications, and in 2021 Moore interned at Madison-based Westwood Professional Services, helping design electrical layouts for power distribution from solar and wind farms as well as work on battery storage systems for renewables.

In her free time, she is treasurer for MadTappers, a student-led tap dance group and is a high school tutor. She also enjoys, dance, art, cooking and baking, lifting and running, reading, and playing games with friends.
