We’re working toward and hoping for an in-person gathering this year, and we’ll provide more information in February.
However, Annual Review is not the only time that we share the lessons we’ve learned in the lab and/or our latest research. Our students and faculty are continually involved with promoting our work through articles published in professional journals, papers presented at conferences, and theses defended successfully on campus. You may not be aware that all these items are available through the sponsor-only content on our website. As an engineer with a WEMPEC sponsor company, you can search through our site at any time to see recent advances in magnetic bearings, high speed electric machines, etc. If you don’t have access to our sponsor-only content, or you don’t remember your log-in, email admin@wempec.wisc.edu and let us know. We want you to take advantage of this opportunity to stay up to date.
We also have another unique opportunity for you to learn more about the specific work of one Prof Giri’s PhD students, Rafael Castillo Sierra. As we mentioned in our December newsletter, Rafael won a 2021 EMTP Research Contribution Prize in the category of Best EMTP Model Developed for his model on Power System with a Transmission Line operating at low frequency. He will be presenting his work as part of an EMTP webinar on February 17th. If you are interested, you can register through EMTP webinar link
And if you are interested in learning more about the resources available to you through WEMPEC, consider joining our staff on an informal video call on Wednesday, February 9th at 1:00 CST. We’ll walk you through the website, tell you about other learning opportunities, and field any questions you may have. There’s no need to register for this, just join us through WEMPEC webinar link
