Title: Electric Drive Controls Product Engineer – 96857
Onsite/Remote:Onsite Position
This position is eligible for a flexible work schedule arrangement at the present time. The arrangement may be delayed for training or other job acclimation purposes and remains subject to change.
Your Responsibilities
As an Electric Drive Controls Product Engineer for the John Deere Construction & Forestry division, located in Dubuque, IA you will work with a team to develop vehicle electrification systems on construction equipment. In addition, you will:
- Develop control algorithms used on the next generation of electric drive systems
- Perform simulation and tuning activities to ensure that customer needs are being met with our electric drive equipment
- Lead internal teams to drive methodology, processes, and tools improvements for developing and simulations electric drive control systems.
- Provides problem solving of electric drive system on new product development and current production
- Work with product line teams to develop and integrate the control systems into the vehicle architecture

What Skills You Need
- 3 or more years of previous engineering experience performing analysis, testing and/or design work for a defined portion of a project or equivalent
- 2 or more years’ experience developing control algorithms in a model based platform.
- Knowledge of electric drive systems and their operating principles
- A strong desire and ability to learn new subject matters and technologies
- Excellent communication skills and leadership potential
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%
What Makes You Stand Out
- Analytical experience in electro-magnetic principals and power electronic controls
- Experience with embedded software development
- Experience utilizing SAEJ1939 interfacing tools or other vehicle controller interfaces
- Experience with off-highway equipment
- Master of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
